Jessica Revels

You can’t see yourself all by yourself.

As a therapist, I bring a genuine curiosity to counseling work. I value counseling that is sensitive to how issues of race, culture, gender identity, sexuality, and social oppression impact emotional health.

My working style is affirming, empathic, and direct. There will be times of shared humor as we face the muck of being human.

Another reason I enjoy professionally connecting with clients is, I’ve been there. I have dealt with familial grief, career transition, anxious over-thinking, termination of major relationships, and what it means to co-parent. Your counseling road map will be uniquely your own, but I too have benefited greatly from an alliance with a skilled therapist.

For over 15 years, I feel fortunate to have supported individuals in different work settings. Before completing clinical training in counseling, I worked in the areas of reproductive rights, sexual and intimate partner violence advocacy, Training & Development, business coaching, and behavioral health interventions and research at Duke University.

Change is hard. Even positive changes can be stressful. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgemental counseling space in the Raleigh and Durham area. In a world of judgment, counseling is a place where you can come and say whatever is on your mind—all the things. Contact me to schedule a no-cost phone consultation for individual therapy, couples counseling, marriage counseling, or relationship counseling.

Interested in other therapy and mental health counseling services? I offer a range of North Carolina based therapy and counseling services in my Raleigh/Durham NC office including depression treatment, anxiety treatment, Brainspotting for trauma treatment, therapy for life transitions and support for co-parenting after separation or divorce. My other professional therapy specialties include marriage counseling, sex and LGBTQIA affirming relationship therapy, couples counseling, premarital counseling and divorce recovery therapy.
